  1. First, we seek insurance approval or authorization for the surgery.
  2. Second, the necessary medical clearances are obtained. Your primary care doctor and any specialists that you regularly see (i.e. Cardiologist) will need to sign and document that they feel your health is optimized prior to the operation and undergoing general anesthesia. In addition, an EKG, chest X-ray, and blood work will be completed. Currently, during the pandemic, we also require a negative COVID-19 test prior to proceeding.
  3. Finally, an appointment is made with one of our physician assistants in order to explain the surgery in detail, sign consent forms and review important before and after surgery instructions. It is at this time that we will discuss medications that will be prescribed after surgery.
